CEO, Malta Business Bureau
Joe Tanti holds a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Strathclyde Business School (Glasgow), a Diploma in Adult Training and Development from the University of Malta and a Diploma in Hotel Management from the Institute of Tourism Studies (Malta).
Joe has gained extensive international experience having lived and worked in Switzerland, the UK and Ireland.
As Chief Executive Officer of the Malta Business Bureau (MBB), Joe has considerable expertise in the wide range of EU-funding programmes, resulting in the successful submissions and management of various projects, some of which have been nominated as best practices by the European Commission.
Taking MBB’s largest environmental initiative to date, the LIFE+ Investing in Water Project, the MBB has helped 136 enterprises to identify water saving measures and supported implementation, resulting in over 141 million litres of water (over €100,000) saved by enterprises per annum.
Joe has been a catalyst in the launch of ZAAR, Malta’s first crowdfunding platform, a project spearheaded by the Foundation for the Promotion of Entrepreneurial Initiatives and set up jointly by the Malta Business Bureau and the University of Malta. Aspiring entrepreneurs in Malta can finally crowdfund their business ideas through the ZAAR platform.
The MBB has recently embarked on the Innovation through Design initiative. Following its successful launch, in collaboration with the Enterprise Europe Network and the Ministry for the Economy, the MBB will continue to set forth with the programme together with the Valletta Design Cluster and the TAKEOFF Business Incubator at the University of Malta, amongst others.
With the support of the Design for Europe, this design initiative will be at the top of the MBB’s agenda for 2016, this year being the organisation’s 20th Anniversary.
